Following Eidos’ close-down of Machester-based Rockpool Games Studio, the company has dropped Gimme5Games, a casual games dev team, a little over a year after the acquisition.

Matt Spall, general manager of Gimme5, commented on the severed tie with the Lara Croft publisher, saying that it “is the best route for all parties involved.”

“We understand we’re not the focus of Eidos’ business right now, but we passionately believe in our business and this way the team here are free to explore new and exciting business opportunities.”

Measures to dodge an eventful acquisition? Looks like Eidos is intent on staying alive.
