Underworld tops – gasp! – Metal Gear Solid 4 in Eurogamer’s Top 50 Games of 2008

A little late to the party, actually. Good thing Peter Moore’s blog rant on the “interesting” existence of Tomb Raider Underworld in the controversial list put this on our radar. Ah, yes, controversial it is–if only for the fact that Metal Gear Solid 4 got 30th place while Underworld got 19th. You’ll have to read what exactly made the folks over at Eurogamer place the two games in their respective spots, and see if you agree. Here‘s what they thought of the aging Solid Snake and our forever young Lara Croft.

This year’s Top spot goes to LittleBigPlanet, followed by Fallout 3, Grand Theft Auto IV, Fable II, and XBLA title Braid, rounding up the Top 5. Here’s a jump to the full list. Eurogamer’s reporting they’ve already fled the country.
